Miles Upon Miles
03:42
|
|||
I came to the coast to get away from it all,
but my head boxed me in
and spinning I began to fall.
Round and round like a cannon ball.
I rode across the land on a manmade machine.
I drove it with heart and integrity
miles upon miles against the wind.
Miles upon miles with my face a grin;
miles upon miles again the wind.
So I picked myself for day two;
chasing the sun to the West but how to win the wind knew.
On the other coast what did I find?
So much for leaving it all behind.
The wind, it knew me how to find. It knew me how to find.
I rode across the land on a manmade machine.
I drove it with heart and integrity
miles upon miles against the wind.
Miles upon miles with my face a grin;
miles upon miles again the wind.

Sailing
03:09
|
|||
Together in the end.
Like specks of dust in the wind.
Floating, settling someplace far from here.
And sailing out of sight and mind.
And sailing to the whims of you and me.
Like kite tails on the beach;
backdrop clouds of the sky.
Cut the tether and fly,
you and I.
When we’re just dust that’s just what we’ll do;
through the sky blue.
Landing now and then,
landing now for the view.
And sailing to the whims of me and you.
Like kite tails on the beach;
backdrop clouds of the sky.
Cut the tether and fly, you and I.
You and I.

Clown Parade
03:37
|
|||
Look out they’re coming.
It’s almost like a bad dream
but there’s no waking no more the light,
to wake morning from the night.
They’ve arrived
and now they’re marching in time.
They’ve arrived.
The Clown Parade.
With all of our love we’ve just one strike.
The slight of hand misdirects our life.
With our strength that we thought was out faith, so tall.
We find out that it can be bent after all
It’s bending, it’s bending... it’s bending.
They’re arrived
and now they’re coming inside.
They’re empty as that night.
They’re coming. Hide.
They’ve gotten inside.
If we live it ain’t gonna matter by then.
If we live it ain’t gonna matter.
They’ve got red roses, on their hearts to hide their eyes.
They’ve got red roses, on the ground to hide their lies.
They’ve arrived.
Now they’re coming inside.
There’s nothing sweeter than life.

Footprints
04:14
|
|||
check out these new boots I wear
they’re a little more than a dollar a pair
they have much for you if you seek
it’s about the years they spent outside
walking though the snow and ice outside
nothing matter how long they don't care
See I want to buy new shoes
but they’ve walked through black and blue
and they don’t fit any other feet
their footprints are to me
beneath the snowy earth and sea
like the years we seek they’re pieces of me
I said I’m alright
said I’m ok
I said I’m alright
I’m with you today
back to the story you say
check out these footprints I’ve laid
like the steps of snow they’ll melt away
but there’s some ice that may never fade
like the faces of the holy grail
all the love and hate and pain exhaled
someday it might wash all away
I won’t cause it today
I won’t cause it today
today is for watching snowflakes fall on their way
I’m saving this moment in time
saving for another time
when somehow it’s a better place
I said I’m alright
said I’m ok
I said I’m alright
I’m with you today

Oh My God
03:14
|
|||
Oh my god you are alright.
I was afraid I saw you the last time.
It was one of those things
that make you feel the beauty in just....
breath in, breath out, breath in
I did pray for a godless child.
This renegade that ran for miles.
You are alright now, you are okay
I’m sorry that we ended up this way.
Take take breath, a deep breath my best friend.
Thank god tonight is not tomorrow’s end.
A second chance is given but once my friend,
let’s never make that mistake again
I thought you might hear the last words I said
Where that “I cant stand all the things in my head;
and you know what I mean so I just wish you would leave me be.”
Oh my good you are alright.
I was afraid I saw you the last time.
You are alright now, you are okay,
I must admit I took knee to pray
I said please.
If you’re listening please.
My friend bleeds.
Life onto my hands.
I said please.
Please.
Oh my god you are alright
I was afraid I saw you for the last time
Oh my god okay
lets never end up like we did that day.
Oh my god you are alright
I thought that we’d run out of time.
Oh my good you are alright.

Can I Love You Now
02:59
|
|||
You see me here, does it do much for you? Do you care?
You know I’m here, and I know you kind of like the feeling of my stare.
I’m burning for the same thing that's on your mind,
so when you’re ready to begin lets light that fire.
Can I love you now?
Starting with some quite conversation.
Can I love you now?
Give in, give into temptation.
It’s almost enough that you know who I am.
And you give me the brush each time you walk by for another man.
I can count four steps it takes to turn every head in this place.
So why don't we let you count the things that I can do to you.
Can I love you now?
Starting with some quite conversation.
Can I love you now?
Give in, give into temptation.
I can feel you from across the room.
It’s enough to make me want to...
Let’s blow this room and I’ll share the plan of attack:
give me your heart and you wont want it back.
Can I love you now?
Starting with some quite conversation.
Can I love you now?
Give in, give into temptation.
No, I’m not counting down;
your time is all that you’re wasting.
Can’t I love you now?
Give into me.
Can’t I love you now?
